We’re back with another episode of The Intersection of Being and Becoming! A Black Girl Digital podcast where we discuss the intimate journey of being an influencer while becoming your best self and building a successful brand.
Jaleesa (@jaleesajaikaran) moved from Trinidad to New York to get her start in the fashion and makeup industry. Being in an elitist environment, the Caribbean-native wanted to create a community that was authentic and welcoming to all walks of life. From that, The Life Of a Makeup Artist was created. Now with the largest beauty community on Clubhouse and thousands of followers across social media, Jaleesa continues to strive to build a community that highlights the many perspectives within the influencer space.
In this podcast, we discussed how she builds her brand and navigates the influencer space, along with some tips she wish she knew when starting her journey. You can hear more of Jaleesa’s story on YouTube or anywhere you listen to your favorite podcasts.
